Mōsho started in 2020, getting parts, stickers, keyrings and more over from Japan for myself and my own cars. When friends started asking if I could find things for them, I jumped at it. Not because it was a business opportunity, but because exploring the auctions, learning about obscure parts, seeing what's actually out there is genuinely fun. It still is, and there's a thrill to finding something people think is effectively unfindable.
Japanese cars have gone from affordable fun to culturally significant. Naturally the prices of parts have risen, and thus their rarity, but they can still be found at reasonable prices if you know where to look. The problem isn't really about availability; language barriers, unfamiliar marketplaces and fragmented information can make the process feel far more complicated than it needs to be.
That's where we come in. We spend our time navigating those spaces so you don't have to.
What Mōsho actually is
It's a community brand as much as it is an import service. We want to host events, bring people together, and build something the car community, up north and beyond, can actually be part of. The parts importing is the foundation, but it's not the ceiling.
We ship via container*, landing in the south of England. The ambition is a full container into the Port of Tyne. Most of the import scene is concentrated down south, so bringing this closer to home feels like a welcome addition for us and for the community up here.
*Container shipping is currently paused. We’re still taking enquiries for air shipping.
That's not exclusive to the north though. We'll source and ship for anyone, wherever you are.
What we can do for you
Parts are the main focus, sourced from Yahoo Auctions Japan, Mercari, Up Garage and direct from suppliers. Send us a link, an auction ID, a screenshot, or just describe what you're after. We'll find it, price it up honestly, and let you know before anything moves.
We also stock our own products including stickers, clothing and goods.
Vehicle imports are possible too. Speak to us and we'll see what we can arrange.
